The compact SUV is available in both the engine options – 1.5L turbocharged diesel and 1.2L turbocharged petrol engine. However, both the engines give a maximum output of 110 bhp power. As far as Torque is concerned, the diesel variant has 260 Nm, while the petrol variant has a maximum of 170 Nm. Both the engines are paired with a six-speed manual transmission system.
Tata Nexon petrol offers a smooth drive in the cities, however, it becomes a bit difficult to pull on the uphill. Overall, the diesel variant seems to be smooth in all the driving conditions, while the petrol variant is a bit under power.
Driveability
Tata Nexon is easy to drive, even on the congested roads of India. The manufacturer has improved a lot with the Nexon as the car comes with a cabin which is quite noise-free. However, the suspension system is very rigid and people sitting at the back will feel jerks even in case of minor jumps.

The front seats are reasonable, however, a bit of more depth could have increased the comfort level to the feet and the same is the case in the back seat. The rear seat also has a cup holder and a pullout armrest. The front AC is good enough for the car’s size, moreover, rear AC vents are also available.

Tata Nexon comes fitted with some advanced safety features which makes it one of the safest cars to drive in this segment. Dual frontal airbags are offered as standard safety to the driver and co-driver for crash protection. An anti-lock braking system (ABS) with corner stability control is present in all the variants of the car. Advanced ultrasonic sensors with rear camerahas been installed in the car for hassle-free reverse and parking. Moreover, adjustable front seatbelts and ISOFIX Child restraint system for rear seats are also offered for the utmost safety.
How good is Tata Nexon?
